Behind the British New Far-Right’s veil: Do individuals adopt strategic liberalism to appear more moderate or are they semi-liberal?

The New Far-Right is often equated with fascism within mainstream political discourse. Although there are fascistic elements of the far-right generally, typified by its adoption liberal values and support democracy. Some argue that this a strategy to distance themselves from fascism, while others their pro-liberal position semi-liberal. This article aims understand whether individuals British strategically or Fifteen semi-structured interviews were conducted three groups. Using reflexive thematic analysis, grievance-based themes developed: Islam, COVID-19, values. While some narratives nationalistic using oppose discussed rights topics not related nationalism. Supporting previous research, previously left-wing more likely hold semi-liberal arguments, whereas right-wing be liberal.
